There’s a wild animal on the loose in the black forests surrounding New Gotham…
Not that anyone cares.
Well, Peter doesn’t care.
Peter Ume is more interested in finding a way to alleviate the skull-numbing boredom of a city wide shut down. So far his ideas for excitement hover between stealing an unwary idiot’s underwear (soul works, too), setting someone’s eyebrows on fire, or stabbing the next person he meets in the eye with a hot French fry.
It turns out, he’ll be able to save assault and theft for a rainy day. As luck would have it, this naughty kitsune is about to meet the big bad wolf.
And man, is the wolf in for a surprise…
Warning: This story can be read as a standalone, but you will want to smack Sophie for it. (Or so the ravens have said.) So, do keep in mind that there is a part two. (And it will be a freebie. Sophie’s Pixies will carrier pigeon everyone more information soon.)
About a Sophie Avett Sinister Stitches Tour
Who? – I’m Sophie Avett. I write dark fantasy books. And I try to keep things interesting when it comes to marketing. Roxanne the Fabulous, from Bewitching Book Tours, is totally in charge of organizing this tour. I mostly just provide the content. As I mentioned, I’m the kind of author who likes to do things a little different when it comes to guest posts and articles. Mainly, I prefer to do interactive world-building pieces. The most of successful of these has been my Sinister Stitches interviews.
What? – What are Sinister Stiches Interviews?
Many authors are invited to fill out dress-fitting questionnaires, similar to the form one might fill out at an upscale boutique and/or tailor’s establishment. But here’s the thing…They have to fill it out as one of their characters. Last time, we did the women. This time, we’re going to check out some heroes! Yep. We’re getting up close and personal with some your favorite boys and giving them a makeover!
Each post includes saucy commentary from one of the Witches-Who-Stitch and beautiful photographs of each heroine modeling the completed dresses!
Who are your accomplices? Depends, really. I have worked with several bestselling authors and award warning authors, but I’ve also worked with midlist, and even, “fresh to publishing” newbies. I try not to limit myself, but it really does depend on whether or not an author can get the interview to me in time for posting.
How does this work? – Basically, Sophie sends out interviews and invitations to all sorts of authors. When she receives the completed interview back, she writes the “results” portion and finds royalty stock images to match. Some of these images are edited to ensure they match whatever the witches have “created” created for the character. After I get all of this done, interviews are proofread, and then, I fashion an html code document for bloggers. These html templates are then sent to Roxanne the Fabulous for distribution to different vendors.
Some Things to Keep in Mind – This type of tour usually ends with a contest. It is usually Sinister Stitches related. Last time, I gave away a dress and a few other things. I try to keep Gothic Shop (my favorite vendor) appraised of what contests I have coming up, so we can find the niftiest trinket for readers. All of the details of my last giveaway can be found here: http://sophieavett.weebly.com/tour-and-contestgiveaway-info.html
Will the Interview Be Posted Anywhere Else? – Yes. Granted I write original material for every tour, but the interview will eventually be posted to my online portfolio, and will probably be released as a Bewitching Book Tour Magazine feature.
About the Author:
Sophie Avett is kind of a nerd. Like not even one of the cute, hip ones everyone brags about nowadays. More like the socially awkward hippie who eats way too much bread and dreams about being a dragon from behind towers of mythology books. Um…yeah. Picture old, tattered paperbacks and comic books–mostly Batman and Wonder Woman–dwarfing a tiny desk, with just barely enough room for the troll who writes there and the 70 pound hell-hound that insists on laying it’s wet nose on top of her bare foot.
Granted not the most exciting existence, but she tries to make up for it by writing romances populated with her own peculiar ilk of paranormal beasties. Trolls, wyverns, the obscure Nordic brownie–she likes to keep things interesting. And bloody. (And mostly naked–but, we’ll keep that bit between us.)
