U. S. Department of Homeland Security Daily Digest Bulletin makes a good writing resource

writingIf the U. S. Department of Homeland Security Daily Digest Bulletin is not on your list of resources, it should be.

This is a good source to find reports of money laundering, insider trading schemes, Ponzi schemes, vehicle crashes, fires, waste water spills, counterfeiting crimes, stolen police cars, Honeypot stings (go check it out), dirty smartphones, the Ball Cap Bandit (yep, is really known as the Ball Cap Bandit), illegal ocean dumping, fuel spills, tugboat spills, bomb threats and much more information that would make good background material for a mystery, thriller, suspense and even romance writing.

Some authors have stated that their stories are inspired from newspaper articles and reports.  So, what better reports to use than those from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.

And if these reports don’t scare you to death, they surly will make for good fiction.

Note – you do have to subscribe to get these reports.
