“It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal
to reach. It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be
unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars,
but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim is a sin.”
~ Benjamin E. Mayes ~
I couldn’t agree more. February has been a rough month. I missed church a lot, but managed to get to my class on Monday evening three out of four times. I have always loved to write, but never did anything serious about it. After retiring with multiple chronic illnesses, I decided to take up my love of writing again. I published my first book, “Dana’s Dilemma”, in Sept, 2011. I’m not a fast writer, so my next book is finally ready for the 2nd edit. I hope to have it out in a few more months. Getting my first book out was goal #1; getting enough published to become a “world famous author” is my next goal. At the rate I write that might happen by the time I’m 92. Wasn’t it Grandma Moses who painted her first picture at 92?

I found this quote true. I feel that no matter how sick I am, I still have dreams. Whether I achieve them or not is not the tragedy. Not dreaming and wanting to try and reach my goal is.
