Safe and healthy holiday season wishes from author, Betsy A. Riley

Q:  What is your name?

A: Betsy A. Riley

Q: What country do you live in?

A:  United States

Q: What is the title of your current book?

A:  The one most appropriate for Christmas is “Street People Tales.”

Q: What holidays do you celebrate during this time of the year?  Which one is your favorite and why?

A:  Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve–favorite would be Halloween, because the expectations are not as great, and I have no family tragedies that happened on Halloween.

Q: What colors would you use to describe the holiday season?

A:  Halloween: orange and black;  Thanksgiving: fall colors (oranges, yellows and browns); Christmas: red and gold (and green), New :Years: blue and silver.

Q: What is your favorite holiday movie & song?

A:  Movie: White Christmas; song: Holly Jolly Christmas

Q: What is your favorite holiday book?

A:  I can’t think of a book I consider a “holiday book”–I like to reread old childhood favorites like the Laura Ingalls Wilder series (especially The Long Hard Winter).

Q: What do you enjoy most/least about the holiday season?

A:  Most: so many people being in a cheerful mood; least: crowded stores and over-hype in commercials.

Q: f you were given a superpower, as a gift for one day, what would it be and what would you do?

A:  I would want the power to grant perfect understanding–to all the people of the world (i.e., the beauty pageant answer: world peace).

Q:  Do you call the jolly old fat man – Santa Claus, St. Nick, Kris Kringle, or something else?  If something else, what do you call him?

A:  Mostly Santa Claus, but occasionally St. Nick.

Q: If Santa was real and lived at the North Pole, would you want to visit and why?

A:  Of course–the logistics management alone would be worth a trip–not to mention, a peek at the “naughty and nice” list.

Q: If time and money were no problem, where would you go and what would you do during this holiday season?

A:  World tour–stopping off to meet my online writer friends along the way.

Q: What message would you like to send to those reading this blog?

A:  Have a safe and healthy season.
